Chinese Consul General in Perth Fu Lihua Attends the Welcome Reception of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Steel & Iron Ore Industry Conference
On September 2, 2026, Consul General Fu Lihua attended the welcome Reception of the 2026 Asia-Pacific Steel & Iron Ore Industry Conference and delivered a speech. About 300 people attended the event, including the State of Western Australia Minister for Development David Michael representing the Premier and industry representatives from the steel and mining sectors of China, Australia, Singapore and other countries.

Consul General Fu noted that the Asia-Pacific region plays a significant role in global steel production and iron ore trade. All parties, particularly China and Australia, have complementary strengths and broad prospects for cooperation in areas such as green steel, clean energy, and intelligent mining. As the steel and iron ore industries are currently undergoing green and low-carbon transformation as well as digital and intelligent upgrading, she expressed the hope that all participants would jointly explore new potential for cooperation along the industrial chain and contribute to the sustainable development of the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference was hosted by China Chamber of Commerce in Australia Perth Branch, the Metallurgical Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Mysteel, and co-hosted by the Australia China Business Council WA.
