When AI can execute anything, it becomes essential that humans assign meaning — and increasingly, that meaning is defined by women who choose what's worth building.”
— Yuanyuan Li, Co-Founder of Coding Lady 2026 and Mobvoi
BEIJING, BEIJING, CHINA, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- More than 900 women registered for the first edition of Coding Lady 2026 “She Creates,” which held its Demo Day finals in Beijing on July 25-26. They formed 162 teams; 12 reached the final stage. Coding Lady is a non-profit hackathon for women learning and building with AI, founded by Yuanyuan Li, co-founder of Mobvoi (HKEX: 02438), and Xiao Wang, founder of Chenzao.

Registrants joined from more than 20 cities across China as well as the United States, Japan and Singapore. Of 92 teams that submitted a working project online, 16 advanced to the finals and 12 traveled to Beijing for two days of on-site building and the Demo Day finale, building their prototypes on CodeBanana, Mobvoi’s AI coding agent platform.

The competition was organized around the “Five Kinds of Time” framework developed by Xiao Wang: Survival, Earning, Beauty, Play and Flow, which together make up an ordinary life. Participants chose one category from their own experience and used AI and coding tools to turn it into a working, demonstrable prototype.

“Over the past nine years, humans have taught machines how to focus, while our own attention has been steadily fragmented,” Yuanyuan Li said in her opening keynote, citing Google’s 2017 paper Attention Is All You Need. “When AI can execute anything, it becomes essential that humans assign meaning.” Every team was required to fill two roles: a full-stack engineer and a “human communicator” responsible for who the product was for and why it should exist.

The Demo Day judging panel of 15 women spanned venture capital, technology, brand, education, media and culture, including Emma Yin (Partner, ZhenFund), Dr. Shuo Huang (Qiming Venture Partners) and Yoyo Yang (Makers Fund), among others.
Eight prizes were awarded across three overall categories and five special categories. The top Supernova Award (Gold), carrying a RMB 10,000 cash prize, went to team Gogogo!, made up of high school students aged 17-18. Their project, Her Firsts, is a simulation game rehearsing the “firsts” of adult life, from renting an apartment to a first business trip. Team The Growth Curators won the Gravity Award (Silver) for Baby Moves! — A Motion Picture Book, and team AAA won the Momentum Award (Bronze) for Empress at Court: An AI Flow Map for Working Women. Five special awards went to The Unmuted, She Helps Her, Tomato First Lady, PMOS Peace Corps and Breath of Abundance.

The 12 finalist projects addressed women’s health, career growth, emotional regulation and self-expression. AI is lowering the barrier to technical execution, but it does not replace lived experience, insight or judgment. Women are no longer only users of new technology — they are becoming the ones who define the problems and build the products.
Coding Lady 2026 was supported by Raycom Info Tech Park, which provided the venue, along with eleven partner organizations including ZhenFund, Google GDG Women Techmakers, WaytoAGI and Makers Fund.
